Seaway Serpentarium: Facility Info

The Seaway Serpentarium is open to walk-in traffic during these days and times, year round:

Friday 6.P.M. - 9.P.M.
Saturday 6 P.M. - 9 P.M.
Sunday 6 P.M. - 9 P.M.

If you were planning on bringing in a group of 15-20 or more people please schedule an appointment ahead of time, preferably outside the Open hours.

The cost is $ 10.00 (CDN) per person of 16 years and over. Children 5 through 15 years of age $ 5.00 each. Children under 5 years free. Children under 10 years of age need to be accompanied by an adult to enter. Group price is negotiable, please contact us when planning your visit.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES:

The Serpentarium is a favourite place for youngsters to bring their friends to to celebrate their Big Day (but we've had even some 30-year olds doing the same). In the summer months you have the option to hold the party on your own premises with Serpentarium staff bringing selected animals for a presentation, hands-on, photo ops etc. Very popular are poolside events where kids can take their new friends into the water to see them act in that element. (All our animals are superb swimmers.) Most parties, however, take place here on premises. In the winter it is the only option because of the risk in transporting tropical cold-blooded animals in inclement weather. The bonus is that the participants can see all the animals, including the very large ones, that we cannot bring anywhere.

If your party numbers 10 people or less you may bring them in during our normal opening hours (please see above); the cost is the same ($ 10.00 & $ 5.00 adult/child respectively. Please let us know ahead of time of your planned visit. For more than 10 people or to accommodate a different time schedule (outside of the opening hours) you need to book a Special Opening - the Serpentarium will open for your party only. The cost is $ 150.00/per event regardless of the number of people. We suggest to limit your group size to 20 people at the most, however; to prevent overcrowding and resulting compromised experience.

Please allow a minimum of 1 hour (depending on your interest and knowledge of the topic) to take in about half of what the Serpentarium has to offer. Cameras are welcome. We regret that truly handicapped people will find our facility all but accessible.

Expect to be a little overwhelmed by the inside arrangements and diversity - after seeing the below-modest unpretentious outside of our facility. Despite our signs our street front can in no way prepare you to see Canada's rarest crocodilians, not to mention the unique rest of the Collection. Our staff is on hand to answer your questions. You will be invited to practice hands-on on the docile, harmless part of the Collection. And you will be advised to stay clear of and practice common sense on the other part of the Collection. You may watch the feeding of our crocodilians at 8.P.M. most Sundays (since, for the animals' benefit, we skip some feedings it is recommended to inquire ahead). Venomous and non-venomous snakes' feedings can be demonstrated during any Opening Night.

As a special treat -- provided the animals cooperate -- once a night we can let you enjoy the bellowing vocalization of some crocodilians. It is seldom quite perfect (not all go off that could) but it's always memorable.
